In a secret meeting of the assembly , Iran's supreme Leader Ayatollah has named his second son Mojtana khamenei as his successor. According to reports and sources Ali khamenei was severly ill from past month , so he secretely named his successor to take his role in his absence.
The 65 years old supreme leader was last seen on November 7 during assembly hours since then no one has seen him. He is the longest surviving leader of Iran and has been in power since 1989. Many reports are circulating on social media about him being in comma while some saying he is dead already leaving his will.
In order to avoid any protest Ayatollah wanted his son to take his place during his lifetime only . Also amid classes with israel it was mandatory for him to choose a successor .
Mojtaba khamenei's growing influence in iran made him popular and his name as successor is not a surprise according to locals. He grabbed public attention after the 2005 presidential elections. However there are many sections in iranian authorities who still opposes him .
All these rumours about his health floating around iran is not confirmed and an official statement is yet to be announced by iranian government officials.
